Newsletters made easy

A newsletter engine that does the planning for you.

You have hundreds of recipes and a list that hears from you when you remember. Blogcastr suggests round ups built from your own recipes, drafts the email, and schedules it in Kit when you approve. Five clicks from start to scheduled.

How it works

Ideas, lineup, draft, send

1. Ideas

Every week Blogcastr suggests round ups, dinners and spotlights built from your own recipes, with what is in season first.

2. Lineup

Tap an idea and the recipes are already picked. Swap any of them for another recipe from your blog.

3. Draft

An opening in your voice and a few subject lines to choose from. Edit anything. Reorder the recipes.

4. Send

Approve and schedule. It goes out through your Kit account.

Behind the ideas

What it keeps track of for you

  • It knows your recipes. Course, main ingredients, season and holiday for every recipe, so a cranberry round up is ready the week the cranberries are back in the store.
  • It remembers what you sent. A recipe that went out recently is marked wherever it appears, so your list never gets the same thing twice in a row.
  • Holidays come up early. Thanksgiving ideas appear weeks ahead, with time to send.
  • Your own ideas too. Search your recipes by keyword, build a whole menu, or save an idea for later.

Questions

Before you connect Kit

Does it write in my voice?
It drafts the opening from a short description of your voice that you set once, and from your own recipe text. You can edit anything before it goes out.
Which email tools?
Email scheduling is only available through Kit. Other email service providers are not supported.
Does it work without a recipe card plugin?
No. Blogcastr reads your recipe cards. WP Recipe Maker, Tasty Recipes and Create all work.
Can it send on its own?
No. You approve and schedule every email.
What if I only have 60 recipes?
You will see fewer ideas each week, but sixty recipes is enough for a weekly email for a year.
Will it repeat recipes?
Not unless you choose to. Recently sent recipes are marked wherever they appear.
